Meer Hamja being an actively involved face of the community, has taken the lead in the FRC process of providing land rights to different settlements around Rajaji National Park and has consistently worked for the conservation of Van Gujjar culture.
He has completed his masters from the social work department and since been working with the community on different social aspects.
He is also extremely interested in the study of biodiversity around lower himalayan regions and have done a course on birds identification from WII, Dehradun. He has tremendous love and respect for the forest around him and believes in conservation of the same by using traditional knowledge and techniques.
He has represented the community on many platforms such as Delhi University, Centre for pastoralism and so on. Preparing for the upcoming year of Rangelands and pastoralism declared by the UN.

President

Mohammad Ishak was born in Bhudakhatta tehsil, Haldwani district and is a graduate with nine years of industrial experience. He has worked with the HR department at JCT pvt. lmt. In Hoshiyaar, Punjab. He joined sanghatan in March 2020, worked as media incharge and then as Vise president for a while. Currently looking after the presidential work at Van gujjar tribal yuva sanghathan.

Vice president

Amanat Ali Gujjar has ground experience of more than 7 years and has been an active participant in the mapping project conducted by Dr. Pierre Alexander to understand Van Gujjar hamlets in Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand. He has also played a role of assistant to advocate Pranav Menon who is working on documentation and evidence collection for ongoing litigations of Van Gujjars in Nainital high court and District court. He is a true team player and hardworking member of the sanghathan.

Social Media Head

Azad Gujjar from Pathri is our social media head. He looks after the representation of our community and sangathan day to day activities on all the digital platforms. He has been an active member of sangathan for the past three years and has kept our social media presence alive throughout all the time.
